Meet Lourdes! Our Senior game developer

It takes more than amazingly talented artists to make a game. One of the most essential roles in the development of a game is that of Game Designer. Without a great game designer, a game would never make it off the ground. Today we’re talking to Lourdes, who fills that role superbly in our studio in Barcelona!

What’s your name?
Lourdes Pérez

What do you do for the Delicious games?
My job is to make the game fun! I define the rules and mechanics that the game is going to have. I design the level layouts and then, the artists and developers make the magic needed to bring you the best games we can. I also work closely with the writers and artists to deliver the stories we all love.

How long have you been doing this?
4 years and a half.

What is your favorite food?
Mexican Food! Specially Enchiladas.

Who is your favorite Delicious character?
Emily! I’ve suffered and laughed with all the situations she’s been through. But that’s an easy one I guess. If I have to choose another character I would go for Edward, he is really supportive and loves his daughters unconditionally.

What Delicious game do you like most, and why?
I would go for Holiday Season or True Love. In both of them we see the development of Emily into a stronger woman, getting to know what she wants.

If you were on an island and could only bring three things, what would you bring?
A tablet (iPad or so) full of apps and books, a lantern and a blanket.

What is your favorite tv-series and/or film and why?
Inception (Movie). I really love the idea of how the dreams can be so complex and vivid and change our way of thinking.

What was the last gift you gave someone and why?
I think it was a world map and tacks. It was for a friend that loves traveling, so she can mark all the places she has been and the ones she wants to visit. We are always talking of the places we want to go worldwide!

If you were 80 years old, what would you tell your children?
Be true to your principles, no matter what, and take care of the people you love. At the end, the people whom you share your life with is the most important you will ever have.

  1. I love these games but was REALLY disappointed when I discovered that you had to pay AND on Game House where was almost IMPOSSIBLE to follow Emily’s story throughout because you only got a 1 hour trial if you didn’t get the membership!
Not exactly happy with the amount you have to pay! However, I would gladly pay if all games were on Windows Store and the full game was only a few pounds! Hope to see more of Emily’s story without so much payment soon!!
